1. Purpose
The Content Archival Policy (CAP) of the Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Center (SAIC) at the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) aims to establish a systematic approach to managing digital content. The policy ensures the retention, accessibility, and disposal of archived content in compliance with institutional, regulatory, and technical standards.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all digital content published on the SAIC website (saiciasst.in), including but not limited to:
- Analytical instrument usage data
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Announcements and event records
- User manuals and guidelines
- Financial and administrative records
3. Content Classification & Retention Period

4. Archival Process
- Identification & Tagging: Content will be classified based on type and assigned appropriate metadata for searchability.
- Storage & Security: Archived content will be securely stored in the institutional repository, cloud storage, or designated backup servers.
- Access & Retrieval: Authorized personnel will be granted access to archived content based on institutional roles and responsibilities.
- Disposal & Deletion: Expired content will be reviewed and disposed of as per the prescribed retention period and regulatory guidelines.
5. Compliance & Review
- The Content Archival Policy shall be reviewed annually to incorporate necessary updates based on technological advancements and institutional needs.
- Any content requiring indefinite retention shall be backed up in multiple secure locations.
6. Roles & Responsibilities
- Web Administrator: Ensures timely archiving and secure management of digital content.
- SAIC Content Committee: Reviews and approves content for archival and disposal.
- IT Support Team: Manages storage solutions and ensures compliance with security protocols.
